Privacy Policy:

I respect your privacy and am committed to protecting any personal information you provide.

I collect information when you contact me directly (texts/ email/ messenger) and during the hypnotherapy sessions.

During the initial consultation, I collect information about:

 

• Your contact details /address
• Your reasons for wanting to have solution-focused hypnotherapy.
• How does the issue you want to work on impact your day-to-day life?

• What will you deem as ‘success’?

• Any ‘relevant’ medical information and GP details

• A bit about you – family details/ employment/hobbies

• Short session notes.

This personal information will allow me to support you as best I can, as I will better understand you

I will not disclose that we are in a therapeutic relationship without your expressed permission.

If we see each other outside of sessions and do not have a pre-existing relationship, I will only approach or acknowledge you if you do so first.

Keeping your information safe:

Phone contact – face recognition/ fingerprint recognition.

Emails – Stored on a computer that is password protected.

Paper session notes – Stored in a locked filing cabinet.

Your data:

GDPR allows you to request that all your records be deleted.

You can ask to see any of the data you provided me. (30 days turnaround).

Confidentiality:

As we work together, you may share personal and private information about yourself, your friends, contacts, and team members with me.

This information may include your desires, fears, goals, plans, and business or job-related information.

I will not use this information for my benefit or disclose it to any third party.

I may share the essence of our sessions with my Professional Supervisor, but I will never disclose any information that could identify you. The National Council of Hypnotherapy code of conduct bound me to this confidentiality agreement.

I will not disclose that we are in a therapeutic relationship without your expressed permission. If we see each other outside of sessions and do not have a pre-existing relationship, I will only approach or acknowledge you if you do so first.

If I need to breach this confidentiality agreement, I will discuss it with you first and obtain your permission.

The only exception is if I believe you are a danger to yourself or others or if I am required to do so by the National Council of Hypnotherapy code of conduct.

On occasion, I may disclose information about myself to enable you to make changes in your mindset and your life.

You must keep this information between us.

Misunderstandings:

As your therapist, it is part of my job to challenge your perspective and help you make the changes you desire. 

I strive to do this with sensitivity, and if I ever say or do something that upsets you, please let me know during our session or via email or phone. Openness, transparency, honesty, and trust are essential for our work together, and I am fully committed to your success. To support you effectively, I need your support as well.

 

Ending the Relationship

If you arrive for treatment under the influence of alcohol or mind-altering drugs, I will, for your safety, terminate the session immediately. The full session fee will be charged. Further sessions will be at my discretion and may be cancelled permanently. If I think you would benefit from being referred to another therapist or specialist, we will agree to make the referral as soon as possible.

I reserve the right to cancel therapy anytime and refuse prospective clients at my discretion.

Children and vulnerable adult’s policy:

I am thrilled to work with children from 8 years old and upwards in protective conditions. The parent or guardian must be present for the initial consultation and remain nearby for subsequent sessions.  

I have an up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate and Public Liability Insurance.

Client Agreement – Code of Care

  • The client will be treated with respect at all times.
  • Disclosure of all information during the Initial Consultation and subsequent sessions will remain confidential.
  • The hypnotherapist has a professional obligation to report to relevant authorities any concerns they believe where the client may intend to harm themselves, the therapist or others.
  • If the client is receiving medical treatment, a diagnosis must be sought when possible, and health professionals may be informed of hypnotherapy treatment.
  • A copy of the Association for Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy Code of Practice is readily available.

Consent for Treatment

  • The therapist has fully explained the procedures and treatment.
  • I understand that listening to the track every night is essential to the treatment.
  • The success of the treatment, in part, is determined by the desire to achieve the changes and the commitment to the format of the sessions.
  • A respectful relationship will be maintained between the client and the therapist.

Cancellation Policy

  • I operate a busy practice with a waiting list. Please be considerate when cancelling an appointment and give at least 48 hours’ notice.
  • The appointment fee will be charged in full if there is less than 24 hours of cancellation notice given.
